June 25, 2017 The Single Most Important Word

The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying,
Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love:
therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee.
Jeremiah 31:3

Robert Woodruff, an executive in a former generation, traversed America with a message he delivered to civic and business groups.  The outline was simple, the message brief:
The five most important words are these:
I am proud of you
The four most important words are these:
                                                      What is your opinion
The three most important words are these:
If you please
The two most important words are these:
                                                          Thank you
To Mr. Woodruff's list President Monson adds, "The single most important word is love."

After 27 long weeks we are please to announce that our son, recently graduated from the California Highway Patrol Academy and is now assigned to the Santa Cruz office.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is a law enforcement agency of California.  The largest state police agency in the United States.  The CHP has patrol jurisdiction over all California highways and can act as the state police.  In addition to its highway patrol duties, the CHP also provides other services including protecting state buildings and facilities (most importantly the California State Capitol) and bodyguarding state officials. The CHP also works with municipal law enforcement agencies, providing assistance in investigations, patrol, and other aspects of law enforcement.

Elder Busath worked for the California Highway Patrol for 30 years and we are excited for the legacy to continue.
While Kahlen's Mommy and Daddy attended a California Highway Patrol pre-graduation party with CHIPS Star, Eric Estrada, Grandma and Grandpa had a slumber party with Kahlen at our hotel.
Then the next day we visited with Kahlen's Great Aunt, Marian, and
her Great Grandma, GG

June 11, 2017 Let it Begin With Me

"But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing."
2 Thessalonians

President Thomas S. Monson once stated, "In this world in which we live, there is a tendency for us to describe needed change, required help, and desired relief with the familiar phrase, "They ought to do something about this."
We fail to define the word they. Instead we should be saying say, "Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me."

One more trip to the storage shed to pick up the necessary supplies to furnish a new home for the Elders to create our own little peace on earth.

I am not a fan of change, but I know it is because I tend to focus on what I have to give up, instead of what I have to gain. The silence in our house is deafening with them gone, but we are  excited for Steve, Megan and Kahlen's new adventure and wish them the very best.

It is certain to be another busy week and if the weather would cooperate (it is currently raining with lightening strikes :() we might be able to get everything done.

Wishing you a great week of well doing!
