June 5, 2017 The Door to Learing

"A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a wise man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels."
Proverbs 1:5
The Idaho Falls Temple was rededicated today, Sunday, June 4, 2017 and we                          were blessed and edified to watch the proceedings.
The Idaho Falls Temple was the first temple built in Idaho and is located on the banks of the Snake River.  President George Albert Smith announced plans to build the temple on March 3, 1937, and it was dedicated on September 23, 1945.  The Idaho Falls Temple was the eighth operating temple of the church.  There are now 154 temples worldwide.  It is one of four temples in Idaho, with others in Boise, Twin Falls, and Rexburg. A fifth temple in Meridian, is due to be dedicated in November of this year!

The Twin Falls Sister's couch had to go...one way or another.
After Elder Busath gave explicit instructions it was soon accomplished.

Sister Leach and Sister Dalton, Elder Eddy and Elder Lualemanga our "helping hands."

"Education is a process, not a completed act. The prescriptions of our times look as though you'll go through the motions of an education whether you want to or not. You don't need to ask anymore for an educational opportunity. You have only to knock to take advantage of it.
Saturday, our Preparation Day, is a special day, it's the day we can be tourists and oh...
get ready for Sunday!

The Village in Meridian, Idaho

Jump Creek Canyon Falls in Marsing, Idaho with the Esslinger family
 and Megan and Kahlen Busath

The falls are said to be 50 feet high and the best time to view it is in the spring when the winter snow runoff is at its peak. It was about a quarter-mile hike with a little rock hopping and creek walking to make it even more of a fun adventure.

You know you are old when your grandchildren remain fixed as babies in your mind,
but in fact are growing up right before your very eyes!

"But to achieve excellence, you must open the door of learning yourself. Contrary to what we'd like to believe excellence in education is rarely unearned.  In our quest for knowledge there is no room for cheating, for dishonesty, for that which would degrade us or cause the loss of our precious self-respect."

President Thomas S. Monson

In Idaho one must always be prepared for the unexpected.
Missionary emergencies, kind acts from others and ever changing weather.
After a warm, beautiful few days of sunshine it is now raining cats and dogs.
So glad we cleaned our windows yesterday :(

Wishing you a week of unexpected surprises!
Opportunities to do good and become better!
